| Our Derail Ale brought home the Gold Medal in the Other Strong Ale or Lager category at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival. Durango Brewing Company is a small microbrewery providing fresh, quality beer to the local market since 1990. Originally established in 1886, Durango Brewing Company continues a tradition of brewing excellence in southwest Colorado. At present, our beers include Durango Amber Ale; Durango Dark Lager; Durango Wheat Beer; Ian’s Pale Ale (Durango IPA); and our most recent success, Derail Ale. All of our beers are handcrafted with the finest ingredients and pure water from high in the San Juan Mountains. We don’t make soups, salads, sandwiches, or other foods as we are a microbrewery – we concentrate on making good beer. Real beer, real good. This was first recognized by judges at the Great American Beer Festival in 1990 and again in 2007, as well as by satisfied beer drinkers everywhere. Enjoy our beer at most Durango area restaurants, taverns and when visiting Mesa Verde National Park or while “on-board” the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. We have recently expanded beer availability to the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas of New Mexico and have augmented our Colorado market to include Vail, Beaver Creek, and elsewhere along the I-70 corridor west of the Continental Divide. If you already enjoy Durango Brewing Company beers, THANK YOU. If not, we invite you to try one of our fine beers and join the ranks of satisfied customers who appreciate the craft from Durango’s original brewery. Our new tap room is OPEN! Check out the Brew Photos link to see the progress.
